What was hard

Auth on the Edge, without a driver

Auth callbacks run on Edge middleware, which can't use Mongoose. Session and JWT logic goes through an HTTP layer instead of direct DB calls, so provider IDs from GitHub, Google, and credentials all resolve to one internal user ID.

Tags as a diffed many-to-many

Tags are a many-to-many join, upserted case-insensitively and diffed on edit, all inside one Mongoose transaction — so a failed edit can't leave partial writes behind.
